The CScalp trading terminal offers two types of exchange connections: Trading Mode and View-Only Mode. In this article, we will explain the purpose of View-Only Mode and how to enable or disable it.

View-Only Mode Overview

In View-Only Mode, users cannot execute trades. This feature was introduced in CScalp to allow new users to explore the terminal’s interface without the risk of placing accidental orders. CScalp traders also use this mode to monitor the market and analyze order books across different exchanges.

When View-Only Mode is active, a corresponding icon will be displayed in the order book.

Note: Upon your first installation of CScalp, View-Only Mode is enabled by default. You must disable this mode to start trading.

How to Enable/Disable View-Only Mode

To enable or disable View-Only Mode, open the Connections window (1) to view all your available connections. Select the desired exchange from the list and click the gear icon (2). If the mode is active, the status text [View-Only Mode] will be displayed next to the connection.

This will open the connection settings window. To enable View-Only Mode, check the box. To disable it, uncheck the box. Once done, click the Connect button.

Note: You do not need to enter your API keys when connecting in View-Only Mode.
